About Zerot
The Name: Zero + Rot
Zerot comes from combining Zero and Rot, symbolizing both the idea of starting from zero and the concept of "rot" — as in data rot, something we aim to prevent with better systems and structure.
Zero
Starting from scratch, building from the ground up
Rot
Fighting data decay and system entropy
It's a balance between the beginning (zero) and decay (rot), representing our approach to tech — building from scratch, fighting entropy, and learning through it.
Zerot started as a side project while we were studying at Bahrain Polytechnic University. We're three full-stack developers working under the name @reboot, and we wanted a playground — a home server setup where we could experiment, break things, learn from our mistakes, and test our skills across software development, networking, and cybersecurity.
What began as a learning exercise evolved into something more: a platform that embodies our philosophy of continuous improvement, security-first thinking, and hands-on experimentation.
